When I woke up this morning and saw it was snowing my first reaction was that of a true desert rat: wild excitement and joy. But a couple of minutes later I realized that I was no longer in Arizona. Everything probably wasn’t going to close down because of an inch or two of snow. I still had to find my way in to work.

Bundling up in several layers of clothing, I managed to find a bus that would get me to where I was going and get to work, albeit about a half an hour later than I usually would. Since I’ve been in I’ve been updating the company’s blog with adverse weather tips and I’ve found them useful enough that I felt like sharing them with the rest of you.

In case you don’t happen to be blessed with a four-wheel drive vehicle in Seattle, like me, never fear! The buses are still running, although on altered routes. To find which buses are running near you and where, check out metro’s adverse weather page at: Metro Adverse Weather

Still planning on driving in? Check out the traffic cams at Komo News and King County News to see where traffic is slowed to a standstill.

And don’t forget that adverse conditions can continue after it starts snowing, usually with flooding of some kind. So be careful for the remainder of this short week.

There you go, happy Thanksgiving!
